Sperry’s Helena Boots Were Made For Walking… And Walking…

A great pair of ankle boots is something that should be found in every woman’s closet. We especially love booties, because they’re even more versatile than high boots. There are so many options on the market – heeled, flat, pointed toe, round toe, not to mention all the color options, but for us, nothing beats a comfortable black leather ankle boot. And during the colder months, ankle boots look amazing with jeans or dress with tights. But despite wearing these boots throughout the winter, many women neglect to choose a sturdy sure-footed boot, instead sliding across icy pavement with wet feet.

This winter, we’ve been moderately obsessed with the Sperry Top-Sider Helena Pull-On Bootie, a bootie that we think trumps all the other winterized boots out there. This might be because Paul Sperry has been crafting incredibly sturdy and comfortable boat shoes since 1935.  Sperry Top-Sider products are near unparalleled in their non-slip footwear, boasting maximum safety in addition to their stylish offerings. Last winter, we reviewed the ultimate waterproof Suffolk boot and were astounded by what a difference a winter-suitable boot made! These Helena booties are no exception, with their non-marking rubber outsole with Wave-Siping technology. The Helena delivers the ultimate traction on both wet and dry surfaces, making sure you get where you need to go safely. Within a month of our testing, we wore these in New York City in light snow, San Francisco through wet sand, and through the CES convention in Las Vegas! On each surface, they were equally comfortable and with a quick polish, looked as good as new.

A heavy side zipper and pull tabs make it easy to slip these boots on over heavier winter socks. The classic interior leather and fabric lining provides a breathable and comfortable feel. The lightly cushioned footbed offers all-day comfort, allowing you to wear these boots for hours on the very first wear. The heel, despite measuring a full 3 inches, was the perfect height to allow us to wear these to a cocktail party or dinner but also stay on our feet all night.

Available in black leather, graphite suede, or a red russet leather, these boots looks chic no matter what you’re wearing, and they’re always comfortable. Our only wish is that they are offered in more colors!  We’d love to see a rich navy!
